AUTISM: A MOTHER-DAUGHTER LOVE STORY on the Dr. Theresa Nicassio Show (TheresaNicassio.com)
Despite having been diagnosed with very low functioning autism at age three, Jenny is turning heads with her achievements. She is now the Canadian Ambassador for ANCA, after winning the 2016 Literary Award at the ANCA World of Autism Festival.

About Jenny Story

Jenny Story was born in the Northwest Territories but has lived most of her life in British Columbia Canada. After graduating Grade 12 with Honors and Scholarships she moved to Vancouver to attend Vancouver Film School for Animation and became a 2D Classical and 3D Digital Character Design Animator. Jenny recently just finished working on a film for Super Channel with her animation and is about to start on another film. Jenny also published her novel of a Trilogy (Dysnomia) in May 2015 and was immediately an Amazon and Canadian Best Seller. She is currently working on the second novel in the Trilogy. Jenny won the 2016 Literary Award at the ANCA World of Autism Festival in October 2016 and is now the Canadian Ambassador for ANCA.

AUTISM: A MOTHER-DAUGHTER LOVE STORY on the Dr. Theresa Nicassio Show (TheresaNicassio.com)
Reminiscent of her own story defying beliefs about what is possible, Dysnomia tells a tale of a young girl Layla who sets on an adventure to prove that girls can conquer danger and mystery just as well as boys can.

Defying Beliefs About Autism

Despite being diagnosed with very low functioning Autism at 3 years old, Jenny has blossomed. Believing in herself and the importance of pursuing her dreams, she is passionate about inspiring others to do the same. Now a high-functioning adult in her mid-20’s, Jenny is living proof and a role model to show others that “Autism is not a death sentence but a rich fulfilled life sentence.”

Dysnomia

Dysnomia tells a tale of a young girl Layla who sets on an adventure to prove that girls can conquer danger and mystery just as well as boys can. After being sent down into a mystifying underworld by the devious Nilerm, Layla and her friends must overcome many challenges in order to return home safely.

Autism Awareness Advocate & Spokesperson

Janet is an Official Spokesperson for ANCA/Naturally Autistic, where she is involved every year with the World of Autism Festival, contributing as a program and red carpet host, voice-over artist, book signing coordinator, and keynote speaker.

Since Jenny was first diagnosed with Autism in the late 1990’s, it has been Janet’s mission to not only support Jenny 110%, but also help raise awareness about the positive possibilities Autism can offer, and not collude with the stigma that is usually associated with it. Janet works tirelessly to be a constant rock and sounding board for her daughter, as well as offering Jenny her voice when she needs it. She is also committed to providing all the support and opportunities she can for her daughter, including venturing beyond Canada to research Autism to further her knowledge about how she could best care for her daughter.

Touching Hearts Together With Her Daughter

Despite being diagnosed with Breast Cancer in July of 2014, Janet published her own book, The Autistic Author and Animator, A Mother’s View of a Daughter’s Triumph, since it was a dream for them to publish their books at the same time. Demonstrating the power of love and belief in themselves, both of their books have become best sellers and Jenny’s story is touching the hearts of many people, both in the Autistic community and beyond.

AUTISM: A MOTHER-DAUGHTER LOVE STORY on the Dr. Theresa Nicassio Show (TheresaNicassio.com)
The Autistic Author and Animator is a striking narrative that demonstrates that Autism does not need to be a barrier to success and fulfillment, but can be a source of discovery and unexpected possibilities for connection.

The Autistic Author and Animator

The Autistic Author and Animator is a heartfelt story that relays the importance of perseverance, courage, and strength between a mother-daughter bond as their journeys’ intertwine. Revealing a mother who was her daughter’s rock right from the beginning and did everything in her power to help her daughter see the light at the end of a dark tunnel, The Autistic Author and Animator is a striking narrative that demonstrates that Autism does not need to be a barrier to success and fulfillment, but can be a source of discovery and unexpected possibilities for connection.

“The label for Jenny should have been the best is yet to come as a story is not written until the author writes it, and Jenny is a great writer.”

Jenny’s high school Case Manager
